Meet the team - CEO Alice Cooke
Our founder

Alice Cooke

Alice was a journalist for just under ten years, for titles including Country Life, Sussex Life, British Baker, Food Spark, Bakery Business and Utility Week. She started her own copywriting company, A Girl of My Word, in 2019, which grew from inception to a six-figure business in the space of two years and won awards including Best New Start-Up, Best Newcomer and Best New Business.

As the business grew, so did the clients – she went from helping sole traders transform their fortunes to being asked to strategise for large marketing companies and multinational corporations. She formed On Top of The Word to reflect this new direction, and it has gone from strength to strength ever since.
